Iran ministers offer Christmas greetings

Iran foreign, culture ministers offer congratulatory messages on the occasion of Christmas.

Iranian foreign minister and culture minister congratulate Christians on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Jesus Christ.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Reza Salehi Amiri congratulated Christians around the world on Christmas day.

“Wishing a very Happy Christmas and peaceful 2017 to all. May the miracle birth of Jesus Christ bring peace to our troubled world,” Zarif said.

For his part, Salehi Amiri expressed hope that people all over the world will have a more secure globe in the New Year.

“Unfortunately, in the most troubled world of the day, violence and extremism have given an ugly image to human life, which terrorist groups attribute it to religion to justify their inhumane acts,” he also mentioned.

He noted Iranian Christians have a long history of living in harmony and peace with other Iranians.

Christmas is an annual commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ, celebrated on December 25.
